YEP, I'VE HEARD IT ALL AND THEN SOME............
Through my years of fitness training and motivating others to exercise, I have heard various reasons why people do not commit themselves to a fitness program. The majority of these reasons are from people who have tried to exercise at some point in their life and stopped or gave up for different reasons. I believe, HOWEVER, the number one reason why people fail to stick with or start over on an exercise routine is lack of results from the time and work they are putting in.
We need to be totally honest here and admit that the vast majority of us are all about aesthetics. We all want to primarily look better. Someone wants to lose body fat. NO, they want to look better and losing body fat is part of the process of looking better for them. A skinny guy wants to add muscle. NO, he’s fed up looking skinny, so muscle building will be part of the process for him to look better. We all want to look better and when people aren't seeing results, that's when most will quit. But, you must reprogram your thinking and create a simple strategy by first going back to the basics.
STRATEGY #1: "DOING SOMETHING IS BETTER THAN DOING NOTHING"!
As the Nike® motto goes, "Just Do It". Get moving. If you can only walk 10 minutes, then do it. If you can only stretch 5 minutes, then do it. Walk, instead of climbing stairs. Do some seated stomach crunches while at your desk working at your computer. This "doing something is better than doing nothing" strategy won't give you the amount of weight loss or muscle building effect you are looking for. But, what it will do is get you moving and is the beginning step to motivate you to rise from your ashes of feeling out of shape and give you wings to take back the control of your body.
Just this little bit of effort will leave you amazed at how quickly you will notice the results in your energy, strength, muscle tone and CONFIDENCE. These results will motivate you to take the next step or strategy #2 in your quest to look and feel better.
SO GET OUT THERE AND DO SOMETHING!!!
